Number Nine hums like a quiet experiment in seeing. At first glance, the colors appear fixed—yellow, red, blue, green—each square holding its place with certainty. But the longer the eye lingers, the more the light begins to shift. The centers pulse against their surroundings, and what seemed stable begins to vibrate.

Light here is not passive; it is an active force, bending perception. A cool blue deepens beside a warm orange, making the orange glow brighter than it should. A green softens, then intensifies, depending on where the eye rests. The boundaries dissolve into sensation.

The viewer becomes part of the painting, adjusting, questioning, re-seeing. What is real—the color itself, or the way light makes it feel? In Number Nine, light reveals that color is never singular. It is relational, alive, and constantly becoming, turning vision into a quiet, ever-changing experience.
